Your mobile MIT ID will work for almost all of the services on campus that need your ID. If a service requires a physical MIT ID card or you want to carry a physical MIT ID card, you can get one at a 24/7 self-service kiosk using the MIT Atlas app or visit the Atlas Service Center during their business hours. MIT IDs are assigned specifically to one person for use, and should not be shared with others.
Individuals with a Kerberos account can use the MIT Atlas mobile app to print out a card at one of several Print My MIT ID self-service kiosks on campus. Alumni can use the Tim Tickets application to print a card at campus kiosks.

In the app:
- Tap "MIT ID"
- Tap "Get a physical card"
- Tap "Generate QR Code"
- Visit a kiosk and follow the on-screen instructions. You may either hold your QR code six inches in front of the kiosk's scanner, or type your last name and code, as displayed below the QR image in your app, on the kiosk screen.
Your new card will take 2-3 minutes to print. Once your new card is printed, any previous MIT ID card will become invalid for use.
MIT community members can print a maximum of three replacement cards from a self-service kiosk in one year, at no cost.
Replacing a lost or stolen ID card
- Visit mycard.mit.edu and select Report Lost Card.
- Follow the instructions above to get a new card via self-service (24/7) or from the Atlas Service Center during business hours.
Your new card will allow the same access as your old card. For your protection, once a card is replaced, it cannot be reactivated.
